Last Friday we, four people of the ZEBRA Stelzentheater flew to Edinburgh to give a performance on the Edinburgh’s Hogmanay 2006-07 on the NIGHT AFORE.
The night we arrived we attended a very impressive Torchlight Procession who attracted more than 15.000 people. It went a long way trough Edinburgh and ended on a hill where a wooden ship and some kind of Taurus were burned. It was raining, but we arrived right in time to watch a spectacular fireworks.
It is very impressive, that they celebrate New Year for four days in Scotland, starting with the Torchlight Procession. Unfortunately this year they had to cancel all events on December 31st and January 1st because of bad weather, rain and storm. We were lucky on the 30th. When we woke up in the morning it was still raining badly, but it cleared up during the day and we were had quite dry grounds and could perform and enjoyed ourselves a lot.
